THRESHOLD: A PERSONAL GROWTH AND ART-MAKING
EXPERIENCE FOR WOMEN

New group starting 1 April 2010

This eight week group is designed to be both an exploration of our inner process and an outer art-making experience which will result in a personally handcrafted, illustrated book. Each week there will be a hands-on demo of various mixed media techniques including: stamping; embossing; paper quilting; and making pop-ups and pull-outs. We will also look at specific topics such as: different collage options; which adhesive to use for what; setting eyelets; making fabric from paper; and alternative book styles.
No previous experience is necessary and if you think you don't have a creative bone in your body, this group's for you.

This group is for the woman who wants to:

Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 pm
1 April - 20 May 2010 (8 weeks)
First Congregational Church
1128 Pine (Pine and Broadway) in Boulder

Cost: $260, includes materials for demos
Facilitated by Lynne Foote MA, LPC

Lynne has been facilitating women's groups since 1985. She is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice with over 25 years of experience. She is also an artist who paints abstract acrylics and has fallen madly, deeply, wildly in love with the creative process. This process has been leading her to bookmaking of late, a natural union of words and images, two of her great passions.

"I would have never thought that the world of art would have been able to help me work through some of my issues. Lynne's encouragement to explore life through art helped me connect with others and have fun at the same time while learning something new!" -PT

New group starting 1 February 2010

COMING ALIVE:
A DIVORCE GROUP FOR WOMEN

This is an eight week support group for women who are either considering a separation or divorce, or are currently in a divorce or post-divorce process. Seeking support, guidance, and direction can be invaluable during what can be one of life's most difficult passages. By joining with other women, in a shared experience of grief and loss, we will find our way together through the confusion and chaos of this emotional storm to firm ground. Carl Jung once said: "The only way out is through." We will use specific exercises, guided visualization, and the sharing of our stories and insights, to move through the anger, shame and fear, to reach a place of insight and acceptance from which we can begin to forge a new and prospering life.

This group is for the woman who wants to:

Mondays, 6:30-8:30pm
1 February - 15 March 2010 (8 weeks)
Boulder Location to be announced
Cost $320
Facilitated by Lynne Foote, MA, LPC

Lynne has been facilitating women's groups since 1985. She is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice with over 25 years of experience. Lynne has been a volunteer bereavement counselor with Hospice since 1982 and has worked with clients in every phase of grief and loss. She has also experienced her own divorce process, and from the ashes of that devastation, she has recovered and rebuilt her own life so that she is free to live and love again.

"Back in 2001, I had lost my husband (divorce) and dog (illness) in a matter of 2 months. The best way I can describe how I felt back then is that it was like someone had taken my life's puzzle and dropped it on the floor where it shattered. Some of the puzzle pieces were broken and in due time I realized the puzzle would never be the same. Lynne's Women's in Transition group helped me find new pieces and helped me rebuild my life. Now I have a new life puzzle and I am pleased with the new image that has been created." -KF
